No, I am not going to comment on the SC Oregon Ducks game. There's only so much pain one can endure.
Instead, I am writing about the one thing that is free and profuse in Southern California - yes, the relentless sunshine. Those of us who get this stuff all year round is always looking for ways to diffuse it, divert it.
To start, there is always the daily exercise of slapping on sunblock-spf 30, 40, 50 ... Then there's the umbrella, the visor with the over protruding shade in the front. Usually the protruding part is made of plastic sun screen. People pull it down so much that it looks like they have a welder's shield in their face! My sister drives with a pair of long sleeves (gloves?) to protect her arms.
Then, there is this ultimate solution. Last week, I saw a lady driving with one hand and the other hand was holding a piece of cardboard which she moved around to shield her face from the sun! The moving sun shade! What's else is next?
I love the sun and I don't want to shield it. Well, die hard trojan fans, the team need to rebuild for next year, especially the hapless defense.
ReplyDeleteHahah MD, I like your description of the big visor that looks like a welder's shield -- so true. I enjoy the sun (unless it is TOO hot) and use my sunscreen and sunglasses to shield! As fir says, Trojans need to really work on defense... *sigh* it is too bad we lost yesterday. We better win our last few games!!
ReplyDeleteMoving sun shade, good one!
ReplyDeleteO.K. O.K. Enjoy 'your' sun. Wait until you want a glass of water and it was there. We won't have this problem in our rainy Vancouver. We enjoy our rain. (Or should I say we learn to enjoy our rain.)
